Light is warmth, comfort, and connection. It guides us, protects us, and brings people together.
Yet for many, light is not a given. In parts of the world where eye care remains out of reach, darkness is not a metaphor, it's a daily reality.
This year, with #ReflectingLights, we continue to spread light together with Light for the World, supporting initiatives that restore vision and create opportunities for people with visual impairments.
Seeing differently = living differently
In many regions, vision loss means more than difficulty seeing, it often leads to isolation and loss of independence.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, 9 million children live with visual limitations, and only 10% of children with disabilities have access to schooling.
Light for the World brings accessible eye care to remote communities: restoring not only sight, but also dignity, opportunity, and hope.
Through hospitals, mobile eye clinics, and local training programs, Light for the World ensures that restored sight becomes the first step toward independence and inclusion.
Close to the heart
The #ReflectingLights pin is a small, reflective symbol created to carry this message close to the heart.
Folded at a 45° angle, it captures light in subtle ways: a quiet nod to our design language of unexpected details and considered simplicity.
Like the folded corner of a page, it marks something to return to, a reminder to pause, look closer, and truly see what often remains unseen.
Each pin represents awareness and empathy. Wear it as a symbol of light shared, and of stories that deserve to be seen.
Reflect your light
Three simple steps to take part:
- Wear your pin with pride.
- Share your story and Use #Reflectinglights and @wearedeltalight
- Support eye care and help us spread awareness
Together, these small gestures create real impact: turning reflection into action, and action into hope.
A look back: reflections from 2024
