Founder Paul Ameloot honoured with prestigious award

Our founder, Paul Ameloot, receives the prestigious "Dare to Act" award from UNIZO

On Friday 22 November 2024, Paul Ameloot, the founder of Deltalight, was honoured with the prestigious " Dare to Act" award. Presented by UNIZO Roeselare, this accolade celebrates entrepreneurs who demonstrate vision, courage, and determination.

A lifetime dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation

Paul Ameloot founded Deltalight in 1989 and transformed it into a global leader in architectural lighting, now active in over 120 countries. His entrepreneurial journey began in 1974 with Stereo House, a small hi-fi shop in Roeselare's Ooststraat. By recognising trends such as the rise of nightclubs and dance venues, Paul became a pioneer in event and exhibition lighting.

Today, Paul’s legacy continues through his sons, Peter and Jan, yet he remains an enduring source of inspiration to both Deltalight and the broader entrepreneurial community after 35 remarkable years. In addition to his achievements in lighting, Paul also played a key role in developing Delta Matrix, an innovative framing system later acquired by beMatrix.
“Paul Ameloot exemplifies what an entrepreneur can achieve through courage, vision, and innovation,” said Isabel Lapeirre, Chair of UNIZO Roeselare.

A place among notable names

With the "To Dare and To Act" award, Paul Ameloot joins an illustrious list of previous winners, including Patrick Lefevere, Donald Muylle, and Rik De Nolf. This recognition underscores the lasting impact of Paul Ameloot and Deltalight, not just in Roeselare but around the world.
