Samuel Vanhoegaerden Gallery (BE)

Samuel Van Hoegaarden Gallery in Knokke (Belgium) is specialized in post-war and contemporary art. The gallery was recently renovated by anversa architecture and development, known as a design studio that searches for silence, elegant proportions and a balanced use of tactile materials.
Its new interior winks at the atmosphere and class of the large galleries in Paris or London. The oak herringbone parquet, the long-pile carpet and the white volumes in combination with the special furniture by Nakashima and Finn Juhl translate a classic minimalism. The horizontal and vertical interplay of lines has been worked out extremely consistently, creating a calm that focuses on the artworks.
The quality of the lighting played a crucial role. In addition to general lighting, magnetic spot lighting with different beam angles brings real dynamism to the various 'art rooms'.
The magnetic Spy luminaires are combined with lenses and filters, so that each artwork can be illuminated as preferred by the gallery owner. Subtle graphics were opted for by crossing the rails and even letting them continue here and there so that certain spaces are given more length and/or width. The finishing in Deltalight’s unique “Flemish bronze” makes it warm and stylish.
The Dali technology makes it extremely flexible in combination with home automation and control via a mobile app.
