Delta Light rewarded with 2021 Silver Medal by EcoVadis
We are pleased to announce that Delta Light has received a 2021 Silver Medal by EcoVadis. The recognition is a testament to our continuous efforts in the field of sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
The independent sustainability monitor EcoVadis assesses companies on 4 themes: ethics, labour & human rights, environment and sustainable procurement. Delta Light exceeds the industry average in each one of the themes, confirming our position as a frontrunner in the global lighting industry.
Environment
The environment assessment lauds our actions in renewable energy and waste management. One of our waste management policies concerns the handling of aluminium, the main material of many of our luminaires. As aluminium is 100% recyclable, any aluminium waste is collected for recycling.
The vast roof surface of the Delta Light headquarters, which include our production site, is covered with 2534 solar panels. These account for about 90% of our electricity use. The additional energy purchased from our provider is 100% renewable.
Labour & human rights
EcoVadis recognises our providing of a healthy, safe and balanced environment for all employees. That includes health and safety training programmes and the labour and human rights policies we have installed, such as our diversity and antidiscrimination charters.
Ethics
The ethics evaluation treats the topics of corruption, anti-competitive practices and responsible information management. Our policies on information and corruption security and our installed whistle-blower procedure to report ethics issues have earned us a high score.
Sustainable procurement
The chapter on sustainable procurement focuses on the evaluation of suppliers on their efforts in CSR and on purchasing policies. Among other actions, at Delta Light we have sustainable procurement policies in place, that cover environmental and social factors.
The assessment
The EcoVadis methodology framework assesses companies' policies and actions as well as their published reporting related to the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
The criteria are based upon international CSR standards such as the Global Compact Principles, the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard, the ISO 26000 standard, and the CERES principles.

We are proud and happy to be selected as the exclusive lighting sponsor of the Italian pavilion. With the theme 'Resilient Communities', the Italian pavilion fully draws the card of sustainability.
