A Constant State of Transition

FLUX, A Constant State of Transition, reaches its third edition and moves this year between 2 and 13 June to the Oudaan Tower in Antwerp. During this ten-day multidisciplinary event, Deltalight will occupy the top floors of the iconic brutalist building designed by Renaat Braem. Discover new visual and sculptural works, meet inspiring contacts from the art, architecture and design world, and get inspired.

Where and when will Flux 2025 take place?

In the Oudaan, also known as the Police Tower
Oudaan 5 – 2000 Antwerp

From 2 to 13 juni

FLUX is an annual event where we take over and highlight an iconic building. A building that is in a unique phase of transformation, be it through design, use or cultural impact. Through an innovative intervention with light, technology and art, we reshape an experience. Because we believe in the transformative impact of lighting on space and environment. In a complementary statement.

Oudaan

The Oudaan Tower, designed in 1985 by Renaat Braem with Maxim Wijnants and Jul De Roover, was intended to capture the soul of Antwerp. Although the original plan aimed to centralise all city administrative services, the tower became a landmark. When the police left in 2015, the building was sold to a local developer. Its future has remained uncertain ever since.

Components of Space

Components of Space, an architectural installation made up of interwoven ventilation ducts where light, shape, and texture interact with a tailor-made soundscape, was previously exhibited this year in the square of the iconic Palazzo Litta during Milan Design Week.

The design redefined the historic architectural space for a week. The result was a sensory and interactive experience. A real conversation starter with impact. We're now bringing that installation to Antwerp.

Artists at Play

During FLUX, we invite three artists from different disciplines to create new work. On the existing canvas of architectural heritage, they will craft a new story over ten days in the context of transformation and connection.

Renato Nicolodi

As an artist, Renato Nicolodi refers to archetypal buildings of past times and cultures and strips them of their original function, ornamentation and dogma.

He creates new architectural work through his own abstract lines, emphasising the universal sacred, spatial limitations and possibilities. His works act as visual anchors that invite the viewer to meditate and reflect.

Annelies Van Damme

Annelies Van Damme’s work is defined by bold colours, monumental dimensions, and dripping paint. She explores themes such as gender, power, sexuality, and violence.

She walks paths the public usually avoids. In doing so, she evokes strong emotions and plays with subjective perception, proportions, and complicity.

Mark Colle

With an internationally impressive client portfolio, Mark Colle is called a superstar among florists.

His surprising creations are spectacular, unconventional, poetic, and instantly set the tone for the evening. In his thoughtful vision with impulsive touches, flowers can be beautiful or ugly—but they always make an impact and embody transformation.
