Cantine Rainoldi (IT)
The renovation of the Aldo Rainoldi winery in Chiuro, Sondrio, combines its historical essence with a modern aesthetic. This transformation aims to embody the evolving nature of the winery, while preserving its traditional charm. The winery is made up of two different structures: a rustic stone building used as offices and cellars, and a newer, more industrial production facility.
Lighting plays a key role in enhancing the architectural and aesthetic qualities of the winery. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by a shop with a vaulted ceiling adorned with two striking rings of light. This welcoming area sets the tone for the winery's blend of tradition and modernity. Behind the shop, the tasting room, with its small lounge and snack tables, is illuminated by spotlights with tunable white light, providing a versatile and inviting ambience for guests. The careful selection and placement of luminaires ensures that every area of the winery is both functional and visually appealing.
In the basement, where the barrels are stored, the atmosphere is transformed with a 'total black' theme. Ceiling tracks and linear lighting dramatically illuminate the large barrels from the back wall, creating a visually stunning environment. This lighting design continues throughout the warehouse and conservation areas, where adjustable spotlights on ceiling tracks provide flexible and targeted lighting. Integrating carefully selected lighting solutions not only enhances the winery's visual appeal, but also highlights architectural features, ensuring Aldo Rainoldi Winery stands out.
