Starbucks Roastery Milan (IT)
The new Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Arriviamo Bar in Milan is the first of its kind in Europe. Located in Piazza Cordusio, in the heart of Milan, Starbucks' new space is an upscale ‘theatre of coffee’, offering an immersive experience that takes customers on a journey spanning the bean roasting process, together with the grinding and brewing methods.
The Arriviamo Bar and Roastery were conceived by the British design firm Arup as a luxury Willy Wonka-inspired coffee factory, articulated around the copper-clad roasting cask, a stunning piece of industrial engineering. The bespoke design and high-quality finishes and materials are a tribute to Italian design and craftsmanship.
The lighting design is created by Niteo Lighting, who collaborated with Deltalight on a range of unique luminaires, tailor-made for the project. Together we created an array of luminaires that answered the specific demand of the project, both functionally and aesthetically.
The iconic scoop-shaped luminaires are just one of the developments created for the Starbucks Roastery. With their brass finish, they blend in beautifully into the environment. Their shape is a playful nod to the coffee scoops used in the roastery, to scoop up the deliciously roasted beans.
